Cameron Mohan
Roles/Responsibilities: Board Chair
Term: Second - Renewal AGM 2025
Home Church: Bloom Church, Regina
Bio: Passionate about youth ministry, Cam has been involved with KLC since 2014, and has been working at various Christian summer camps every summer since he was 16. He has served at KLC as the Program Director, LIT Director, and most recently, the Summer Director. Cam also helps out with the graphic design work for our website and social media.
Family and Other Interests: Cam has attended bible college, participated in missions through YWAM, and served as a Youth Director at New Hope Church in Winnipeg for four years before moving to Saskatchewan in 2012 to pursue a teaching career. Cam is a high school teacher in Montmartre, SK. Cam also serves in leadership at Bloom Church in Regina.
Owen Sudom
Roles/Responsibilities: Treasurer
Term: First - Renewal AGM 2027
Home Church: Bloom Church, Regina
Bio: Owen has been part of the KLC family since the age of 10, joining staff at 16 as a lifeguard and cabin leader, later stepping into program leadership roles. Owen has spent over 10 years attending, working for, and volunteering at KLC. He is passionate about creating space for kids to step away from their routines, be themselves, and encounter the love of Jesus.
Family and Other Interests: Owen has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Finance and a Certificate in Ideation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship. He was an executive of the Hill Business Students’ Society while he completed his degree. Owen currently works as a financial advisor with Conexus Credit Union. Owen and his wife, Grace also serve in leadership at Bloom Church.
Simon Hutton
Roles/Responsibilities: Secretary
Term: First - Term complete AGM 2028
Home Church: Celebration Church, Regina
Bio: Simon is originally from Yorkton, SK and attended KLC (or KBK as it then was) as far back as he can remember. He completed the LIT program under Stephanie Greenway and Jeremy Sundeen in 2004-2005 and worked as a cabin leader at KLC for the following two years. Simon has jumped in with both feet—assisting with fundraising initiatives. His history with KLC brings a deep sense of continuity and care to our leadership.
Family and Other Interests: Simon spent a year at Briercrest from 2008-2009 and went on to complete a bachelor’s degree and law degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Simon remains active in his current church community, having served in a variety of positions, including as a youth leader, and leading an interdenominational small group with the Regina App, while remaining on rotation for worship. Simon is a lawyer working as in-house counsel for the City of Regina. In his spare time he loves hiking, running, cycling, and anything outdoors.
John Mohan
Roles/Responsibilities: Board Member at large
Term: Second - Term complete AGM 2026
Home Church: Church of God, Estevan
Bio: John brings 40+ years of pastoral, nonprofit leadership, and organizational consulting experience. He has always been known for his focus to include those on the margins of society.
Family and Other Interests: John and Brenda have been married 44 years and currently serve as the lead pastors of Estevan Church of God. His hobbies include golfing, sailing, and reading about history, politics, and all things about organizational development. John and Brenda together have 3 children (including Cameron) and 7 grandchildren.
Personal Comments: As parents, we believed in the value of our kids attending Christian summer camps to build life-long friendships and deepen their respective walks with God. As a result, camp has helped shape each of our children, who have all emerged to become leaders in their careers, and churches today. Toward that, I’m honoured to help KLC do for other families what summer camps has done for our family!

David Radford-Grant
Roles and Responsibilities: Vice Chair
Term: First - Term complete AGM 2028
Home Church: First Baptist Regina
Bio: Dave Radford-Grant brings extensive leadership and governance experience to the Katepwa Lake Camp Board. He recently served as Manager of the Service Desk at eHealth Saskatchewan, where he played a key role in transitioning operations from a reactive to a strategic model, streamlining roles, and enhancing staff training programs. As a newcomer to KLC and Saskatchewan, he offers a valuable outsider’s perspective and a commitment to innovation and collaboration in faith-based youth programming.
Family and Other Interests: Dave is a dedicated church member at First Baptist Regina, his passion for Christian camp ministry stems from his formative years at Camp Hermosa in Ontario. Dave has previously served on the Board of Directors for Ganaraska Woods Retreat Centre in Ontario, contributing to program diversification and budget planning. He was also elected to the Board of Deacons at First Baptist Church Ottawa, where he liaised with finance and facilities committees.
Jimmy Schimmel
Roles/Responsibilities: Board Member at large
Term: Second - Term Complete AGM 2027
Home Church: Bloom Church, Regina
Bio: Jimmy was the Executive Director at KLC for the 2014-2016 camping seasons. Jimmy was born and raised in Swift Current, SK and grew up going to camp every summer. Camp was always a big part of his upbringing as his grandfather was on the board of directors at Cypress Bible Camp. Jimmy attended Briercrest Bible College from 2004-2006. In his time at Briercrest he met the team at Camp Kadesh where he spent four summers as a cabin leader and core staff member.
Family and Other Interests: Jimmy is married to his wife Sarah, with two daughters, has two cats, and always has a house renovation or project underway. Jimmy is currently a REALTOR® in Regina. He attended Briercrest College and has worked as an Associate Pastor at a local church. He has had numerous ministry leadership positions which include the Student Ministry Director at Regina Youth for Christ, House Parenting (alongside Sarah) at YFC’s U-Turn Program, student Ministry Pastor at Parliament Community Church.
Staff
Payton Veltkamp
Title: Camp Director
Home Church: Anchor Church, Regina
Bio: Payton first got involved with KLC in 2003 as a camper, later going on to complete the LIT program. She joined the staff team in 2014 as a cabin leader, becoming the Assistant Program Coordinator in 2017. That same year, Payton started a three year journey as admin and school staff with Youth With A Mission where she met her husband, Ryan. She returned to KLC in 2020 as the Admin Assistant and Guest Services Coordinator, learning her new role while finding ways to serve through the pandemic. She became the Operations Manager in 2022 and is now serving as KLC’s full time Director.
Family and Other Interests: Payton is the oldest of four children (Ethan, Hannah, and Wyatt), all of whom have been involved with KLC. She is married to Ryan (who helps out with property and maintenance), and has a cat and dog at home. She’s a worship leader and Youth Director at Anchor Church in Regina.
