Located an hour east of Regina, Katepwa Lake Camp is a Christian summer camp for kids aged 7-15. We're looking to hire a Leader in Training Director for Summer 2021. Katepwa Lake Camp's Leader in training program is a three-week program designed to train young people to become developed Christian leaders. Two co-LIT Directors plan and facilitate the program. This 8-week position is a great summer job for students or anyone else looking for a seasonal position.
Roles & Responsibilities
- LIT Directors must stay on-site from Sunday-Friday for at least three weeks during the LIT program, and must be employed for a minimum of six weeks.
- There will be a pre-camp employment period (minimum three weeks) in which the LIT Director will plan the program. Some remote work may be possible, depending on specific circumstances.
- The LIT Directors are responsible for planning and organizing creative schedules that include sessions which grow students in their relationship with God, improve their leadership skills, and equip them to serve at camp and/or other areas of life.
- Must be a Christian spiritual leader to the students in the program and facilitate creative and mission-oriented devotional times.
- Responsible for preparation of LIT teaching sessions.
- Must plan an event or outing with the assistance of the Summer Director and the other LIT Director.
- Responsible for teaching/supervising LIT students how to complete regular cleaning tasks.
- Responsible for monitoring students as they lead activities to ensure activities are being led in a safe, creative way.
- Working with the KLC leadership team to place students into appropriate roles for the third "in-cabin" week of the LIT program.
- Responsible for the evaluation of students at the end of each program.
- Responsible for having one-on-one "check-in" conversations with each student at least once per week, in a mentor/mentee relationship.
- Completing an LIT report at the end of the program, detailing the strengths and weaknesses of the current year's program and what should change for future iterations.
- Using technology to create interactive content for the students to take home with them after the summer.

- Ministry experience (preferred)
